Overview of Publications cluster

The Publications Cluster plays a vital role in managing the administration of research outputs, creative contributions, and innovations at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. It provides expert guidance on policies related to these areas and ensures that all outputs meet the necessary DHET accreditation criteria to be considered.

Each year, the cluster compiles the university’s research output for submission to the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) for government subsidy allocation. It ensures that all research, creative works, and innovations in recognized categories meet DHET accreditation criteria for inclusion.

Additionally, the cluster manages non-DHET-related outputs and activities that meet the research productivity criteria, as approved by the Senate of the University.
