The Academic Book Prize was awarded to

• Prof Christopher Ballantine for the book, Marabi Nights - Jazz, 'race' and society in early apartheid South Africa 

The Edited Book Prize was awarded to

• Prof Goolam Vahed for the book, Chatsworth - The Making of a South African Township

 The results of the University 2010/2011 Book prize.

The Academic Book Prize was awarded to

• Prof Kevin Durrheim for the book “Race Trouble, Race Identity & Inequality in Post-Apartheid South Africa”.

The Edited Book Prize was awarded to

• Prof Beverly Haddad for the book “Religion and HIV and AIDS charting the terrain”

• as well as to Prof Michael Chapman and Prof Magaret Lenta for the book “SA Lit Beyond 2000”.

The General Book Prize was awarded to

• Prof Sally-Ann Murray for the book “Small Moving Parts”.
