How do I open a cost centre for a research project? -
Do I have to include overhead fees? -
Yes, In terms of the university policy every project classified as a research contract should include indirect cost. The current rate the University levies is a composite figure of 17.5% (15% overheads and 2.5% finance admin fee). Where donor institutions have a policy in place on indirect costs (eg NIH 8%, UNICEF 7% for example, we subscribe to that institutions policy). Also note that contracts soley for bursaries and scholarships are exempt. |
